BDO Appoints New Partners

 

We are pleased to inform the BDO Network that Ashane Jayasekara and Saman Srilal have been appointed to the BDO Sri Lanka practice with effect from 1st April 2010.

Mr. Ashane Jayasekara

Ashane who heads the Risk Advisory Services Division is an IT Graduate of London Guildhall University, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants [UK]. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland. He is a Certified Internal Auditor [USA] and a Certified Financial Services Auditor. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Sri Lankan Chapter of IIA Global Inc. He has experience in providing internal audit services to over 90 companies of various sectors.  

 

Mr. Saman Sirilal

Saman is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He articled at BDO Sri Lanka and then joined Price Water House Coopers – Botswana as a Senior Accountant. He was a Manager at PWC when he left PWC to join BDO as a Partner.

While at PWC he received an award in 2007 for being the “Most Hardworking” employee at PWC Botswana. He was a manager in Continuing Improvement Review Process(CIR)  and a trainer of the firm in 2008/09, in addition to carrying out various assignments related to the Insurance, broadcasting, hospitals/life and health care industries.

His has experience in providing assurance services to foreign conglomerates (cross boarder audits) in education, water utilities and power consumption sectors.

He also specializes in investment analysis, UNDP projects, HIV Aids projects and investigations of specialized Banks.

He is a fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and a member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.

He is currently following a Masters Degree in Business Administration of the  University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
