Ashane is the Deputy Managing Partner of BDO Sri Lanka and the Managing Director of BDO Partners (Pvt) Ltd. He also serves as the Managing Partner for BDO Maldives. He is the International Liaison Partner [ILP] for BDO Sri Lanka & Maldives. Ashane has oversight of the Human Capital, Information Technology & Privacy functions of the firm.

At BDO he heads the Risk Advisory, Cyber and Forensic service lines and has 20 years of experience in the fields of internal audit, cyber security, fraud investigations, corporate governance, risk management and internal controls. His experience spans the private, publicly listed, multinational and government enterprises across a range of sectors, including retail, banking, manufacturing, logistics, airlines, hotel and healthcare. He has overseen many forensic audits and provided litigation support for cases ranging from arbitration hearings to Magistrates and High Court cases. He has served as a consultant to local government and state-owned enterprises on the development of enterprise risk management policies and IPPF based Internal audit manuals.

He was the President of the Institute of Internal Auditors Sri Lanka [Affiliated to IIA Global USA] in 2012/13 and the Chairman of the Integrated Reporting Council of Sri Lanka in 2022/23. He has served as a director of BDO Prime Consultants, BDO BPO Services (Pvt) Ltd, Nexia Management Services (Pvt) Ltd and BT Communications Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. 

Ashane is a visiting faculty member at leading state and private sector universities and has played a pioneering role in the introduction and delivery of Fraud & Forensic Accounting as a subject in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Sri Lanka. He is the Course Director of the Certified Internal Auditor Training Program conducted at the Academy of Finance, Colombo 3. He is a leading trainer of internal auditors on global internal audit standards in preparation for the Certified Internal Auditor Program [CIA, US based Certification] for the past 10 years. He is a proven leader influencing and driving initiatives that impact the internal audit and forensic audit professions.

Outside of work Ashane is a keen tennis player and was a former National Player Ranked No 1 in the Under 18 Junior Boys in Sri Lanka and was ranked 557 in the ITF Junior Tennis World Rankings. He was the overall Tennis Captain and the National Schools Games Captain at Royal College. He also serves as the Treasurer of the Child Protection Society of Ceylon. 

Ashane obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Computing & Information Systems from London Guildhall University in the UK, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland and a Master of Laws [Merit] from the Cardiff Metropolitan University (Wales).
